What is Prior Authorization?
Prior Authorization:
Medicare Part D plans often require the plan Member (or the Member's Physician) to obtain prior authorization for the use of certain medications. Without prior authorization, the plan Member may not receive coverage for the medication. Note, some plans use the term: "Precertification"in connection to the prior authorization and Step Therapy process.
